The Elmwood is maintenance-free, independent living for individuals 55 years and older. It was created for active people who want spacious and beautiful apartment homes, without the upkeep of home ownership. No more shoveling snow, mowing the lawn, painting or repairs—and that means more time for what truly matters!

The Elmwood was created for those 55 years of age or older who want to maintain an active lifestyle, hobbies and enjoy socialization with like-minded adults—all without the maintenance and stress of owning a home! Living at The Elmwood allows you to have more time for what matters most, while leaving the upkeep to us.

Each apartment at The Elmwood has a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances for cooking. Meals are not provided at The Elmwood. However, the community is conveniently located near Lunds & Byerlys, Target, Trader Joe’s and several St. Louis Park restaurants including some of the following:

Park Tavern, The Block Food and Drink, St. Louis Park American Legion, Mexico City Café, Bunny’s Bar and Grill, Pannekoeken Huis, McCoy’s Public House and many Uptown Minneapolis eateries.

Included in the rent are high-speed fiber internet, garbage, recycling, water and sewer.

Yes, at The Elmwood, we are pet friendly. A pet deposit is required and restrictions do apply. Please inquire with Property Manager about specifics.

Yes, upon move-in, you will pay a $1,000 fee. $750 of that is applied to the deposit and $250 is used towards an administrative fee. The $750 deposit will be refunded to you should you need to leave, and your apartment is left in good condition.

Yes, there is heated underground parking at our community. The cost to reserve your own personal parking spot is between $80-$100 per month, depending on what your needs are. There is limited surface level parking behind the building.

The Elmwood has several different community gathering spaces for you to enjoy. These include: a workshop room, a library/business room, two community rooms, complimentary bike storage, a yoga studio, a state-of-the-art fitness room, rooftop patio and outdoor spaces.

The Elmwood 55+ Living is located at 5605 W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park, MN conveniently located right off of Highway 100 and 36th Street. The Elmwood is close to the Greenway Bike Trail, upcoming light rail, downtown and uptown Minneapolis, West End, entertainment and shopping.
